编写说明
(一)本教材的使用者是在校的出版、编辑专业学生和在职的从业人员进修者。
(二)本教材根据出版行业的实际运作范畴,从国际视野出发,选择和组织教学材料,旨在通过教学,使学生准确了解国际出版界的经验与做法,并且从国际、国内当前业态的异同比较中深入思考问题,开启新的思路。
各个单元里选用的研读文本(text)数量不一,全书不强制布置统一的格式,这也是从实践出发的考虑。对于出版专业而言,僵化的教学不会取得真正的效果,而本教材的编写以达到实际效果为唯一目的。
选择用英文做教材,目的是训练学生用英语作为工作语言,培养学生用英语从事出版工作的能力,通过一定的训练,能直接应对和融入国际出版界,获得最新的信息,熟悉国际出版的规则和规律,从事国际版权贸易和出版合作,成为出版业内新的人才。教师在实际教学活动中,教学语言可以用英语,可以用中文,也可以中文、英文并用。
(三)本教材的每一个单元都包含三个部分的内容:
“Terms and Expressions”(术语)只列出一部分与出版专业有关的常用行业术语,不列非专业的普通语词。
“Text”(研读文本)的选文顾及两方面内容,一是国际出版的相关知识、前沿课题、新的趋势,二是用英语表达专业知识的能力。
“Topics for Further Study”(深入研究的话题)根据每一单元的主题,各提出两个话题。这些话题有别于一般教材中设置的、旨在将学生的思路引向预设答案的“思考题”。本教材设计的话题,目的是引发学生活跃的思路和更多的设问。
(四)出版专业是一门实践性很强的学科。《国际出版》(International Book Publishing)的课堂教学有三项任务: (1)基础知识;(2)前沿课题与最新信息;(3)对策研究。为此,各单元里的研读文本选用的文章,或者是扎实的基础知识,或者是反映新技术、新趋势的知识和信息。同时,课堂教学和讨论宜采用“开放式”,随时选择和补充更新的(updated)信息,加入课堂教学内容。
(五)高等院校的教学不同于技术专科学校的教学。高等教育的教材和教法必须贯彻三大要素——“专业基础”、“前沿课题”和“研究方法”。本教材《国际出版》的编写宗旨就是意图努力实践这一原则。当然,作为一种新的尝试,它在目前还编得不够理想,所以盼望业内专家、专业学生、读者们协助,使之进一步完善。
