Nan Huaijin (1918-2012), a Chinese scholar with fame at home and overseas and a master of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism, was good at combining various thoughts from Chinese culture. He founded the East-West Essence Society in 1969 to promote the exchange of cultural essence between the East and the West. In 1980, Lao Gu Culture Co., Ltd. was established in Taiwan.
   Mr. Nan Huaijin has given countless lectures throughout his life and has rich works. His best-selling representative works on Chinese traditional culture include "The New Interpretation of the Analects of Confucius", "The Widely Known Comments on Mencius", "The Muttering of Chuang Tzu", "An Additional Interpretation of Lao Tzu", "The Explanation of Vajra Sutra", and "Miscellaneous Lectures on the Book of Changes". He employed a combination of the classics and history to explain Confucian, Buddhist and Taoist texts, supported by extensive citations from all ages, and in a meaningful, lively and humorous manner. For half a century, he has made amazing achievements in popularizing traditional Chinese culture, which is loved by readers of each level all over the world and has influenced countless Chinese and foreign people over the past half a century. His aspiration to integrate the East and the West essence and address cultural fracture will be handed down forever.

This book is a collection of lectures by Mr. Nan Huaijin on the Vajra Sutra. According to the classification of Prince Zhaoming of the Liang Dynasty (502-557), the author divides the Vajra Sutra into 32 paragraph groups (like today's chapters) and then explains them one by one. Each paragraph group features a summarizing verse to illustrate his enlightenment from the study.

This book is the lecture of Mr. Nan Huaijin on the Book of Changes. The first part mainly introduces the general knowledge of the Book of Changes and some related issues. The latter part focuses on the interpretation of the 64 hexagrams (beginning with the ¡°Qian¡± hexagram and ending with the ¡°Weiji¡± hexagram), with the most detailed explanation of the ¡°Qian¡± hexagram.
